Scheduling time off for COVID-19 vaccination appointments
As BC continues to roll out its provincial vaccination program, the provincial government has announced that employees can have up to three hours of time off, without loss of pay, to get each dose of their COVID-19 vaccine. For the first time, the Provost and Vice-President Academic from UBCV and UBCO will collaboratively present this week-long initiative that showcases teaching and learning opportunities at UBC through open lectures, poster sessions, workshops and more.

UBCV & UBCO3 May, 2021 | Announcement | Faculty2021 Distinguished University Scholars
The Distinguished University Scholar program recognizes UBC faculty members for their scholarly excellence. The award is conferred by the President on the recommendation of an Adjudication Panel. Every other January, the Invitation for Nominations is announced, with a nomination deadline in March and adjudication in April. The Adjudication Panel's recommendations are submitted to the President, and the successful Distinguished University Scholars are notified and they will begin their terms in July. The next Invitation for Nominations will be issued in January 2023.

The figure of a cyborg staggers to its feet, vertebral loops pulsing a deep blue. Who are these two strangers? Creator and creation? Master and servant? Adversaries?
