Announcing recipients of UBC's 2023 Faculty Research Awards

This year, 27 faculty members have been named as recipients of the university's Faculty Research Awards.This award recognizes the research excellence and scholarly achievements of faculty from across all disciplines, ranging from the applied sciences and medicine to the social sciences and humanities. Award recipients are selected by UBC’s Faculty Research Awards Committee and include early career researchers through to established members of faculty.

The Healthy Workplace Initiatives Fund Program is an annual fund of up to $3,000 available to UBC departments and units to support grassroots activities that promote wellbeing in the workplace.The program provides start-up funds and support for health-related, sustainable initiatives. You can apply for funding for programs such as mental health training, nutrition and making healthy food choices, and fitness classes, to name a few.The deadline to apply for funding is Apr. 19

Register for the Pick Your Peak Stair Challenge by April 15

The Pick Your Peak Stair Challenge is an initiative that encourages faculty and staff to incorporate movement, social connection, and physical activity throughout the day.You can register a team of 4-6 people or sign-up as a solo climber (by 4pm on April 15), select your stair climbing goal, and start tracking your progress. 

UBC planning a balanced operating budget for 2024/25

UBC is reporting a healthy financial position as part of its 2024/25 budget proposal presented to the Board of Governors’ Finance Committee.The report was presented to the committee in advance of going to the full Board of Governors on March 27, 2024. UBC Vancouver – PhD CoLab Pilot advances faculty-student research and collaboration

The university’s PhD CoLab Pilot program was launched last fall to encourage faculty-student collaboration to devise innovative solutions for complex questions on various topics. Over $2 million awarded to 2024/25 Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund projects

The 2024/25 Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF) funding round is complete. Funding worth $2.2 million has been awarded to 62 new and returning TLEF projects across UBC Vancouver. An additional $150,000 has been allocated to support 15 project teams as part of the Special Call for the Universal Design for Learning Fellows Program.
